Juventus poor Form in League continues

Juventus have been suffering from poor form in the league over the last few weeks. This has allowed Roma to close the gap on the reigning champions, but Juventus are keen to get the second consecutive league victory after several weeks when they take on Hellas Verona in front of their own supporters.

Juventus thrashed their next league opponents 6-1 in the Coppa Italia only a few days ago, but manager Massimiliano Allegri reckons that the opposition will be much more stronger to beat in the league match. Juventus have a two-point advantage over second placed Roma, although they have a game in hand.

Carlos Tevez will undoubtedly be a man to watch during the weekend, as the former Manchester City striker continues to score goals for fun. He has 11 goals in just 17 league appearances this campaign. He is expected to be one of the first scorers against Hellas Verona. The huge victory over Hellas Verona in the midweek was achievedeven without a number of first-team players like Tevez. Allegri gave as much as eight new players a chance to impress, but he is expected to recall the important names back to the first-team fold. Only players like Arturo Vidal are expected to be unavailable due to health issues.

“Don’t kid yourselves that Verona will play the same way – they’ll be much more careful and won’t allow us many chances. We cannot think this is going to be an easy game, especially considering how important it is in the overall big picture. In the second half of the season we must make as few mistakes as possible, because there’s less and less time to make up lost ground. We are three points in front of Roma, but it’s not enough. From now to the end, if we’re going to win the Scudetto, then we need a lot of victories,” said Allegri.
