Real Madrid attacker Marco Asensio has fuelledtransfer rumours of a move to Italian football this summer after he visited the city of Milan during this international break.
Asensio spent a few days in Milan in the company of his girlfriend Sandra Garal thereby increasing the rumours of a move to Italian football giants AC Milan. Previous transfer reports had stated that AC Milan would be his likely destination if the Real Madrid star was to swap Spanish football for Italian football.
Asensio was not part of the latest Spain squad for the international friendlies against Albania and Iceland during the current international break and he used the opportunity to visit the Italian city of Milan. His girlfriend posted the picture of them together in front of the iconic dome with a two-phrase Italian sentence ‘Amore mio’ as caption.
The future of Asensio at Real Madrid is far from certain with his current deal set to expire in 2023. The Spanish La Liga giants are yet to open talks with him over a new deal. Italian publication Calciomercato said that the Spanish attacker wants clarification on his Real Madrid future especially with the knowledge that he might not be a regular next season if French World Cup winner KylianMbappe kind Real Madrid in a mega, free transfer deal.
Asensio has been a regular on the right side of the Real Madrid attack this season, but his spot could come under serious threat with the expected arrival of Mbappe from PSG. He earns €7m on a yearly basis at Real Madrid and his future at the club could be dependent on the signings made in the summer. Apart from Frenchman Mbappe, Real Madrid also want to sign Borussia Dortmund hitman ErlingHaaland.
Real Madrid and AC Milan will meet to discuss Brahim Diaz soonest and Asensio could also be on the agenda.
